Suzuki Alto 5th Generation 

The fifth generation Alto came with a rounded exterior giving better aerodynamics. The car was available as 3 door or 5 door hatchback with 3 different powertrains as a front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. In Pakistan Suzuki Alto is only available in a  1000cc engine while India is the largest manufacturer and seller of Suzuki alto sold the car under Maruti 800 name plate. Suzuki Alto 6th Generation 

The Suzuki Alto 6^th generation was assembled in Japan and had a curvy front end (bonnet and head lights curved down) . This version was also known as Nissan Pino and Mazda Carol. This 6^th generation Alto was a 5 door Hatchback with front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive and came with a lightweight and  small engine for better and efficient fuel economy.

The Suzuki Alto 6th generation had two type of drive systems (FWD and 4WD) and three types of transmissions available (3 or 4 speed automatic and 5 speed manual).

But all the trims had the same 658cc 3 cylinder DOHC engine capable of 54 horsepower at 6500 rpm with the torque of 61 Nm at 4000 rpm.

Fuel Economy 

The Suzuki Alto is known for its cheap price and good fuel economy. This Car is an excellent choice for the people with tight budget.

The 6th generation Alto has a combine city (19) and highway (25) mileage of 22 kilometers per liter achieved by its light weight and small engine.

Overall the car is an excellent deal and has a good fuel economy, it is comfortable, roomy and cheap and comes with all the standard safety features like SRS airbags, anti lock braking system (ABS), Brake assist and Electronic braking force distribution (EBD) but What i hate about this car is that the car is Ugly as hell. I am sorry if you you own it or dont agree, but the car is ugly in my opinion.

The Suzuki Alto is currently in its 7th generation and its being assembled in Japan and India. Both of them are very different from each other but both of them are far more better than the previous models.

Japanese Suzuki Alto 2013 also Known as Mazda Carol

The Japanese Suzuki Alto also known as Mazda Carol started its production in 2009 and the car was redesigned completely from bumper to bumper. The New Japanese Alto had a complete make over and it is made far more better in each and every aspect like fuel economy, comfort, safety, driving experience and especially the exterior because i hated the old one (it was kind of Ugly) 

The Suzuki Alto 2010 was very light weight and came with a small 52 horsepower DOHC 3 cylinder 658cc engine capable of producing a torque of 61 Nm at 4500 rpm. The car had a CVT transmission or manual transmission and was available in Fwd and 4wd. 

Since the Suzuki Alto is always known for its cheap price and fuel economy, the new Alto gave mileage of 24.5 Kilometers per liter. In 2011 the Suzuki Alto Eco was launched which had an extraordinary mileage figure of 30.2 kmpl which was further improved in 2013 to 33 kmpl with a different engine. You should know that the Japanese version has a better fuel economy than the indian version.

I dont know about other countries but in japan the car is offered in two trims, S and L with the MSRP or sticker price of  12830 US $ and 11540 US $. 

The Suzuki Alto eco has all the standard Safety features like ABS, SRS airbags, EBD with other features like

So overall i would say that the car is a very good deal indeed with a price and features like that. So if you have a tight budget under 15000 US $ then i guess this is the car for you

Indian Suzuki Alto 2014 or Suzuki Celerio 2014 

The Suzuki Celerio 2014 is manufactured in India and it is also Known as Maruti A-Star (Alto Star). The Indian version of Suzuki Alto 2014 is totally different from the Japanese Suzuki Alto. The car is also sold in some countries under the name "Nissan Pixo".

The Suzuki Alto 2014 is actually the first automatic car manufactured in India. The car started its production in 2008 and comes as a 5 door hatchback with front Wheel drive. The New Suzuki Celerio is equipped with K10B, a 3 cylinder all aluminium 998cc SOHC engine built especially for the new redesigned Alto. The new engine is capable of 68 horsepower at 3500 rpm and a torque of 47 Nm at 6200 rpm which allows the car to reach a top speed of 155 km/h and its goes for a 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds.

Price and mileage 

Since the car is very Cheap, it does not have that impressive features but it is definitely better than the older version. The new Alto is comfy and roomier than before, has a nice interior, the new exterior is also impressive and has a 3 star safety rating . Also you can own it for just 5600 to 6600 US $. The new indian Alto is not better than the Japanese version in every aspect except performance but since it is far more cheaper and affordable, i say "buy it" to those who have a tight budget.
